Want to have a dog but can't stand the noisy barks? How about a barkless dog? Yep, they do exist. They are called Basenji or sometimes called Barkless or Congo Dog. Although Basenjis do not bark, they can mimic sounds, and they are able to mimic barks if raised among barking dogs.
Basenjis are ancient breed of hound dog native to central Africa. They are small, short-haired dogs with erect ears and a tightly curled tail. They are very intelligent and responds well to training. Another good thing about them is that they groom theirselves well...just like a cat. So a little grooming is needed.
I'm not sure if I want a voiceless dog, I dunno, but it sure is 'ideal' for people who lives in a condo or an apartment to avoid neighbors from complaining about the dog's noise.

oh... a dog that doesnt bark? can mimic sounds? are you telling us that this one can mimic human voice? that would be cool if thats the case. that dog doesnt need to bark. just teach him/her to say "hoy! gaano ka da?!"... im sure that it will be much effective that way in guarding our houses.. ^_^
